The second-ranked ACU Wildcats will host Lone Star Conference South Division rival West Texas A&M next Saturday (Nov. 22) at Shotwell Stadium in the second round of the NCAA Division II football playoffs.
The Buffaloes (11-1) advanced to the second round with a 49-42 win Saturday over Central Washington at Kimbrough Stadium in Canyon. That gave them the right for the rematch they've wanted since the Wildcats marched into Canyon on Oct. 18 and took a 52-35 win over the then-fourth-ranked Buffs. That win pushed the Wildcats to their first 10-0 regular season since 1950 and first outright Lone Star Conference football championship since 1973.
